meşəçilər” dəstələri Ekologiya və Təbii
Sərvətlər Nazirliyinin meşə
mühafizəsi və bərpası müəssisələrinin əməkdaşlarının yaxından
köməkliyi və tövsiyələri sayəsində meşəsalma, meşəbərpası
işlərində fəal iştirak edirlər.
Bu gün hər birirmiz meşələrin qorunmasının və artırılmasının
qayğısına qalmalıyıq. İndiki və gələcək nəsillərin sağlam, firavan
həyatı meşələrin qorunmasından asılıdır. Meşəyə dair ekoloji
biliklərə yiyələnməli və öyrəndiklərimizi gündəlik həyatda tətbiq
etməli, ətraf mühiti düşünülməmiş addımlardan qorumalıyıq.
Bəs bunun üçün nə etməliyik?
Məktəbdə sinif yoldaşlarınız və dostlarınızla birlikdə “Gənc
meşəçilər” dəstəsi yarada bilərsiniz. Təşkil etdiyiniz dəstə meşələrin
ən etibarlı mühafizəçisinə çevrilərək inanılmaz arzularınızın
gerçəkləşməsinə kömək edə bilər. Siz dostlarınızla birlikdə öz meşə
sahənizi yarada bilərsiniz. Meşə salmaq ilk baxışda
göründüyü
qədər də çətin deyildir. Ən başlıcası meşə bitkilərinin nə vaxt,
necə və harada əkilməsini bilmək lazımdır. Bu vəsait meşələri fəth
etməkdə sizin yaxın bələdçinizə çevrilə bilər.
Təqdim olunan vəsaitdə meşələrin qorunması və bərpa olunması
barədə maraqlı məlumatlar verilir. Ümid edirik ki, bu məlumatlar
sizin gənc meşəçilər hərəkatına qoşulmağınıza və yaşıl sərvətin
artırılmasına öz töhfənizi verməyinizə kömək edəcəkdir. Ölkəmizin
ekoloji cəhətdən davamlı inkişafı naminə meşə ehtiyatlarının
qorunması və artırılması istiqamətində fəaliyyətinizdə sizə uğurlar
arzu edirik.

Introduction
Forests are a fascinatingly beautiful
natural treasure of the
mankind. It is a habitat to myriads of creatures ranging from ele
mentary to the supreme. Forests are a living source of our Planet.
Role of the forests in enrichment of the atmosphere with oxygen,
circulation of water and materials and regulation of the climate is
irreplaceable.
Possibly while visiting the forest each of you pay attention to the
richness of the forest flora and fauna. Complicated and sometimes
invisible mutual ties among the flora and fauna species demon
strates compliance of nature with the harmony rules. Alongside gi
ant old trees young growth and even decomposing trees’ roots are
habitat and nourishment to many creatures. Living “laboratory”
of microorganisms located behind the dried leafs of the forestland
day and night working hard to process the dead plants and animal
remnants to the productive fertile layer of the soil. Having their
personal place at the established “multistory”
area the plants and
animals do not interfere with their mutual development. To the
contrary, chainlike food relations among the creatures contribute
to their development. Altogether during million of years plant or
animal species composing any of the rings of the chain have been
formatting the forest ecosystem. Loss of any of the ring of the
chain impacts the ecological system and destroys already estab
lished food relations.
Millions of years, forests have been developing and selfrestor
ing in a natural way. By establishing harmonic relations among the
inhabitants
of the forest, nature, as a skilful conductor, contributes
to the eternal performance of the “forest symphony”.
But unfortunately due to the thoughtless human interventions
the very existence and integrity of our forests are under the treat.
People equipped with the advanced technological tools are exploit
ing the forest resources which cause their depletion and destroy
the harmonious development of the forest. Inefficient use of the
forest resources impugns existence of this peerless treasure for
the coming generations. In general, decrease of the forestland has
a strong impact on the ecological balance
and contributes to the
climate change and loss of biodiversity; destroy of soil and water
formation processes.

Despite nonlarge forestland areas in Azerbaijan they to some
extent impact the environmental balance. Our irreplaceable trea
sure related to the first group, means they are under governmen
tal protection and industrial cutting is forbidden. Population living
close to the forests and tourists resting in the forests use the food
and medicinal plants. Forest provides people with the mushrooms,
various fruits,
berries, medicinal plants, and forest honey. The
highest threats to our forests are wildfires caused by inattentive
human behavior; destroy of the forest cover due to the illegal
grazing, pollution and extermination of our ancient forestland cur
rently being under the military occupation.
As it was the case in many countries “alarming drum” on the
threatening condition of the natural resources and forests in par
ticular was sounded by the distinguished scholar, academician
Hasan Aliyev. Alongside listing uniqueness
and myriads of gifts
granted to the people by forests he called the former to use the
forest resources more efficiently in the 20th century and was the
first one who promoted the ideas of the sustainable development
in Azerbaijan. Academician Hasan Aliyev wrote: “… If we do not
depicture forest – green belt of the Planet, that means that there
is no Universe. Disproportional attack to the greenery is the cruel
est war against the human. Human’s brain and human’s hard work
are able to overcome this war”.
A series of activities have been being
carried out in Azerbaijan
within the framework of “Improving Forest Law Enforcement and
Governance in the European Neighborhood Policy East Countries
and Russia” Program which was adopted at an international con
ference was held in SanktPetersburg with the participation of
44 countries in the world in 2005. In a spirit of joint cooperation
between the Ministry of Education and Ecology and Natural Re
sources of Azerbaijan tutorials and supporting materials related
to the forest education have been being worked out, also “young
foresters’” groups have been being established in the second
ary schools of the forest regions and in the ecological education
and practice centers. Revival of once
active in the country young
foresters’ movement, involvement of teenagers and youth in ac
tivities related to the protection and restoration of the forests
considerably contributed to the increasing of ecologyoriented
knowledge in the forest realm. Currently with the support and un
der the supervision of the employees from the Forest Protection
and Restoration Enterprises of the Ministry of Ecology and Natu
