Founded in 2007 ‘The First News’ Information Agency and its 
website www.1news.az are now one of the most popular news 
sources in Azerbaijan and the region of South Caucasus.
Our daily audience is around 10,000 unique visitors (according

The editor-in-chief – Rahman Haji – is a holder of a degree of 
Master in international relations at Baku State University and 
has a huge experience of work in various fields of economy, 
including public relations.
We are officially registered as an information agency at the 
Ministry of Justice and Ministry of taxes (copies of the docs can

In 1898, Baku Oil Extractors Congress Board, the Permanent 
Governing Body of Oil Manufacturers Congresses, established 
its  publication  -  “Neftyanoe  Delo”  (“Oil  Business”).  The  first 
edition  of  the  issue  was  published  on  10  January  1899 
in  Russian.  Thus,  the  journal  became  one  of  the  pioneer 
publications  playing  an  indispensable  role  in  covering  the 
achievements and problems not only in Baku, but also all over 
the world. The journal was published twice a month till the 
establishment of the Soviet government in Azerbaijan. 
The  name  of  the  journal  “Neftyanoe  Delo”  (“Oil  Business”) 
was changed and began to be published under the name of 
“Azerbaijan Oil Industry” with the Decree of National Economic 
Council of Azerbaijan SSR in may 1920. 
Today the materials are published in 3 languages in the journal: 
Azeri, Russian and English. Being the oldest issue in the field 
the  journal  gained  a  prominent  reputation  and  became  a 
source  of  actual,  high  professional  scientific-technical  and 
production information not only in our country, but also in far 
beyond of its boundaries. The journal during the entire period 
of its activity collected pretty solid materials in its pages and 
played a specific role as a small encyclopedia.
The  publication  of  materials  reflecting  the  main  priorities 
of  the  technical  achievements  in  the  oil  industry  belongs 
to  “Azerbaijan  Oil  Industry”  journal.  The  author  staff  of  the 
journal consists of local and foreign specialists, engineers and 
scientists who spend their intellectual potential in oil industry 
and related fields. 
The journal played a significant role in growing many well-
known, highly qualified staff specialized in the oil industry. 
The scientific-technical articles of the very popular scientists, 
specialists  and  production  managers  were  published  in  the 
journal during the entire period of its activity. Among them:

During all the course of its activity the journal was managed by 
a team of editors-in-chief considered as honor of the national 
oil  industry.  We  should  indicate  among  them  I.M.Asadov, 
A.J.Amirov, M.K.Seyid-Rza, A.K.Mirzajanzade. The academicians 
I.M.Qubkin, Y.H.Mammadaliyev
were in editorial Board in different times.  
Today the journal continuing its activity hopes not only to see 
an increase in the number of readers, but also wants to see 
new local and foreign authors  who contributing in solution 
of actual issues of the oil industry with their creative work and 
scientific researches. 
Editorial staff managed by the academician Ibrahim Said Guliyev 
and editorial board which consists of advanced scientists and 
specialist of the oil industry carrying out great and effective 
work  with  authors  asset  in  order  to  keep  maintaining  the 
scientific-technical level  and direction of the journal. 
We are always ready to publish articles attracting scientific and 
practical interest and corresponding to the field of activity of 
the journal. 
The journal is distributed by subscription to the all enterprises 
and  organizations  of  The  State  Oil  Company  of  Azerbaijan 
Republic, research and design institutes, higher educational 
institutions,  joint  ventures,  foreign  companies  and  firms,  as 
well as in foreign countries.
