POLYFUNCTIONAL AZIRIDINE
PZ-33 is an ethylene imine based tri-functional polyaziridine that is used in both
aqueous and non-aqueous coatings, inks, and adhesives to promote both physical
and chemical properties. PZ-33 is a XAMA
®
7 equivalent, which can be used as
replacement. Because both products are the same molecule, they have the same
structure and the same CAS number. Product specifications are essentially the
same. Many of our customers have been very successful using PZ-33 as a substitute
for XAMA
®
7 in their formulation(s), which saves them lab effort and time-to-
market.
When looking for a substitute aziridine crosslinker care needs to be taken to distinguish
between the two chemical types EI-based and PI- based. The PZ-33 and XAMA
®
7 type
will react faster than the PI-based type. End users who
are accustomed to XAMA
®
7’s
speed of reactivity may not be able to use a PI-based product in their processes.
