LUCA VIgNATI 
EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT, CENTRAL ASIA REgIoN, ENI 
Born in Macerata (Italy), 1963.
Education: Mining Engineering, University of Bologna.
Since June 2016 – Eni Executive Vice President.
Joined the Eni Group in 1990, beginning his career as a reservoir engineer at Agip SPA. 
Following several assignments in Italy and abroad, he covered many technical positions in reservoir, 
petroleum and production departments. 
He started his managerial position as Development General Director at SITEP JV, Tunisia, 1998. Till 2008 
when he was back to Eni, he worked as General Manager in a medium size manufacturing company in 
Italy. In 2009 was appointed Technical Director in Eni UK, and in 2010 he became Managing Director of 
Burren Resources Petroleum Limited, Turkmenistan. Moved to Egypt in 2011, serving Agiba as General 
Manager & Manager Director. 
Since 2012 he is working in Kazakhstan, where he covered the position of Operations Director & 
Deputy General Director in Karachaganak Petroleum Operating (2012-14), and Managing Director & 
Resident Manager of Agip Karachaganak (2015-16).

DEPUTY EXECUTIVE DIRECToR, SoCAR AZERIKIMYA PU
Mr. Jafarov is a deputy executive director of SOCAR Azerikimya PU for investment and development. 
Before SOCAR Azerikimya PU Mr. Jafarov worked 1 year as a Deputy General Manager of SOCAR-KBR 
LLC and 5 years as deputy head and head of Project Organization division of Oil-Gas Processing and 
Petrochemical Complex and Revamp and Modernization departments of SOCAR. Prior to joining 
SOCAR from 2004 to 2011 Mr. Jafarov worked in McDermott Caspian Contractors Inc., McDermott 
International Inc., Codest LLC and Aztexnika LLC.  
Mr. Jafarov was born in 1982 in Baku. He has bachelor degree in science of Regulation of Economy, 
master degree in science of cost and creation of cost from Azerbaijan State Economical University. He 
is chartered Project Management Professional (PMP). Mr. Jafarov is married, with two children.

Started his career as Telecom/Instrument Engineer in 1995, and then holding various positions as 
Senior Project Engineer, Company Site Representative (CSR) and Head of Facilities. 
Throughout his 22-year experiences in the company, he has been involved in managing assets and 
also managing 
various projects for offshore shallow water, deep water project in Mauritania, onshore project in Sudan 
and unconventional shale oil in Argentina.
Apart from serving Petronas Carigali throughout his career to date, he has a short stint working with 
OGP Technical Services Sdn Bhd, Project Management Consultancy arm for Petronas for 3 years.
He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering from UMIST Manchester,  a 
registered  Professional  Engineer  with  Board  of  Engineers,  Malaysia,  a  Corporate  Member  with 
Institute of Engineers, Malaysia, a member of Project Management Institute (PMI) and a member of 
Society of Petroleum Engineer .
