Zeus. The birth of Zeus
Kron wasn’t sure that the power would always be in his hands. He was scared that his children could rebell against him too and that he would have the same destiny as his father Uranus had. He was afraid of his children. He ordered his wife Rea to bring him his children and then he swallowed them at once. Rea was horrified seeing the destiny of her children. By that time Kron had already swallowed 5 children: Hestiya (the goddess of sacrifice fire, protector of the cities and countries), Demeter (the great goddess of fertility, who gave height to everything which grew on the earth), Yera, Hades and Poseydon (Roman-Junona, Pluton and Neptun).
Reya didn’t want to lose her last child. By the advice of her parents, Uranus-Heaven and Gaea-Earth, she moved to the island of Crit, and there in a deep cave youngest son Zeus was born. In this cave Reya hid son from the cruel father, and instead of her son she gave Kron a long stone covered with a blanket. Kron even did not suspect of being lied to.
Meantime Zeus grew up on the island of Crit. Nimphus Adrastea fed him with the milk of a goat Amalpha. The bees brought to Zeus from the high mountain Dikta. At the entrance to the cave young kurets (half gods) beat about the mountain with swords each time a small Zeus cried, in order to his cries not to be heard by Kron.
Beautiful and powerful god Zeus grew up and became strong.He rebelled against his father and made him to return his children who were swollen by him, to the world. One by another Kron threw up from his mouth his god-children, beautiful and light. They began the fight with Kron and Titans for the power over the world.
It was a lerrible and persistent fight. Kron’s children became the leaders on the high Olympus Some of Titans were with them and took their side and the first was Titan Ocean and his daughter, Styx and his children Ardour, Power and Victory. It was a dangerous fight of Olympian gods. Their adversaries Titans were very powerful and formidable. But terrible Syclops came to help Zeus in this fight. They gave him thunders and lightnings and Zeus threw them to Titans. The fight had already lasted for ten years, but the Victory came over neither that nor the other side. At last, Zeus decided to free giants from the bowels of the earth. He asked him to help him. They left the bowels of the earth and rushed into fight. They were very terrible and powerful like mountains. They tore off the cliffs from the mountains and threw them into Titans. Hundreds of cliffs met Titans when they came up to Olympus.
The land moaned, the crush filled the air, everything was shaking around. Even Tartarus shuddered from that fight. Zeus threw one by one fire lightnings and terrible thunders. The fire spread the whole land, the seas boiled, smoke and stink wrapped up everything with thick cover.
At last powerful Titans wavered. Their force was broken down, they were won. Olympian gods chained and lifted them into the dark Tartarus, into the secular darkness.Giants guarded by the copper indestructive gate of Tartarus and they guarded them in order powerful Titans were not free. The power of Titan ended in the world.
