During the postmenopausal years, the ovaries become smaller.
Before menopause, the dimensions are approximately 3.5 × 2 × 1.5 cm.
In early menopause, the ovaries are approximately 2 × 1.5 × 0.5 cm.
In late menopause, they are even smaller: 1.5 × 0.75 × 0.5 cm.

syndrome, suggesting that any ovary that is palpable on examination
beyond the menopause is abnormal and deserves evaluation
Ovarian cancer is predominantly a disease of postmenopausal women;
the incidence increases with age, and the average patient age is about
56 to 60 years
