Style, form, content, idea, and plot play an important role in the literary development of each
genre. In this sense, imagery is one of the important factors in the transformation of experience into
poetic integrity in poetry. When talking about a poetic image, one or another type of literary form,
genre-compositional integrity is also understood. The various meanings of the word play the main
role in the emergence of reality. Imagery
is the soul of the work, its soul. It is natural that the
meaning of the poet is expressed even in a simple two-line poem. For example, figurativeness also
requires the depth of the creative imagination and originality. It gives him a spirit. It provides a
perfect representation of the universe and man. So, the most primary function of imagery is to
effectively convey the idea and content of the poem. Now, the science and technology revolution,
the extreme expansion of
the boundaries of civilization, led to a radical change in the laws of
poetics. Even the representatives of modern poetry, without moving away from the ancient
traditions,
began to express the mood, goals and aspirations of the people of the new era in an
literary form. True history was restored as a result of creative research conducted in this regard. A
modern expression of national identity has appeared. A great epic scale was infused into the word.
Reactions were made to sudden changes in people's mood. Therefore, our poetry, which has
undergone poetic renewal in a short period of time, fully proves that it is always in search. In fact,
"Where a man ends, a poet begins," - writes the Spanish philosopher Ortega-i-Gasset[1,366].
In the science of literary studies, three features that constitute the vital foundations of poetry
are listed. These are: 1. Content. 2. Image. 3. Character.
"These concepts are so integrally and closely connected with each other that touching one of
them is equivalent to touching the second, and touching the second is touching the third[2,366]. By
the way, the lyrical content opens a wide way for the character to be expressed in bright colors, just
as it is reflected in the image. In this sense, reflecting the world through the personality of the poet
is considered appropriate if it is approached based on character traits. After all, the poet gives a new
meaning to the word: imagery emerges
from the sum of experience, imagination, thinking, and
emotions. And this is the fruit of a momentary moment born from the awakening of imaginations
and fantasies that shine in the personality of the poet.
Emotion may not play a primary role in poems created on the basis of new formal and
stylistic research, but the general temperature of the poem
is clearly felt in the thought, what content
the poet gave to that thought. Thought is the main means of expression for new poetry. The noise of
society is alien to the artist who is in the torment of loneliness and separation. He cannot react to the
events around him because of his inner suffering. As a result, the
human personality becomes a
whole essence. He revolves around the views that are most important to him. The density of reality,
emotion, and experience moves somewhat freely in new poetry. The poet's thought-provoking
expressions play a greater role than warm, playful verses. Magnificence, overflowing with
excitement and pleasure are not among the main factors for modern poetry.
If he ensures the
originality of the idea, he is considered to have fully achieved his goal:
