Becky Knickel

Becky Knickel is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).  She 

received her undergraduate degree in accounting and her master’s 

degree in business with a specialization in accounting and tax. 

Becky spent the first ten years of her career in public accounting 

working at KPMG, one of the big four international accounting 

firms, first in audit and then in tax, rising to the position of senior 

manager.  After having children, Becky’s professional interests 

became more entrepreneurial and family focused.  She opened her 

own tax and consulting business and designed, built, and directed a preschool in North Dallas 

licensed for 150 children.  Becky and her husband, Jim, live in Dallas and have three daughters, 

Jennifer, Emily, and Megan. Becky was a Girl Scout leader for 21 years earning the Outstanding 

Volunteer, Green Angel, and the Outstanding Leader Awards as well as the Volunteer of the 

Year from the Helping Agencies serving Richardson. She volunteered at Vickery Meadow Adult 

Literacy Center, served as Board member and Treasurer, served the PTA’s at her children’s 

schools in many capacities, and was awarded the PTA Life Membership Award. 

Becky is in her fifteenth year of teaching at Brookhaven College; over this period she has taught 

Financial and Managerial Accounting, Individual and Business Tax, QuickBooks, Accounting 

Applications of Excel, Intermediate Accounting, and the Accounting Capstone. She has served 

Brookhaven College as Interim Business Dean, Achieving the Dream, Co-Chair, on the DCCCD 

Accounting Curriculum Committee, and many committees. She believes that everyone should 

have a job that they love and that teaching at Brookhaven College is the perfect place for her!

Becky Knickel es una Contadora Publica Certificada (CPA). Se graduó en contabilidad y luego hizo sus 

estudios de posgrado en Negocios con una especialización en contaduría e impuestos. Becky paso los 

primeros diez (10) años de su carrera trabajando como Contador Público en la empresa KPMG, una de 

las cuatro firmas contables más grandes a nivel mundial, primero en Auditoría y luego en Impuestos, 

subiendo al puesto de Gerente Senior. Luego de tener a sus hijos, los intereses de Becky se enfocaron 

más hacia su familia y al emprendimiento. Abrió su propia empresa de consultoría de impuestos y, 

diseñó, construyó y dirigió un prescolar en el Norte de Dallas con una matrícula de 150 niños. Becky y 

su esposo, Jim, viven en Dallas y tienen tres (3) hijas: Jennifer, Emily y Megan. Becky fue una Girl Scout 

líder por 21 años habiendo ganado la distinción como Voluntaria Sobresaliente, el Ángel Verde y el 

premio de Líder Sobresaliente, así como también, el premio a la Voluntaria sobresaliente de las Agencias 

de Ayuda para la ciudad de Richardson. Fue voluntaria del Centro de Alfabetización para Adultos de 

Vickery Meadow, sirvió como miembro de la Junta y Tesorera. También fue miembro de la Sociedad de 

Padres y Representantes de la escuela de sus hijas en muchas áreas y fue galardonada con el Premio de 

Membrecía de Vida del PTA.

Becky tiene 15 años dando clases en Brookhaven College; durante este tiempo ha enseñado Contabilidad 

Financiera y Gerencial, Impuestos Individuales y Empresariales, QuickBooks, aplicaciones en Excel 

de Contabilidad, Contabilidad Intermedia y Contabilidad Capstone. Ha servido a Brookhaven College 

como Decano Interino de Empresas, Alcanzando el Sueño, Co-presidente en el Comité de Curriculum de 

Contabilidad de DCCCD y muchos otros comités. ¡Ella cree que todos deberíamos tener un trabajo que 

amemos y que dar clases en Brookhaven College es el lugar perfecto para ella!
