He then became Administrator at Holy Trinity Parish, Bloomington, St. Patrick, Bloomington and St. Patrick, Wapella (2017). Please welcome Fr. Deptula to St. Paul Church!
MANY THANKS!!
Many thanks for the wonderful reception and good wishes that I received from everyone last weekend. Also, I am grateful for the kind donations of over $2,700 towards my impending trip to Uganda. Rest assured that I will treasure my time here in Macomb with all of you. Many Thanks to you all.
Fr. Sebastian
Father's Fat Tuesday Food Drive!
Members of the St. Paul Women's Guild are organizing our annual Father's Fat Tuesday Food Drive. All proceeds will go to Loaves & Fishes of Macomb. After Masses on February 3/4, members will hand out paper bags with food drive instructions. Before Masses on February 10/11, members will collect your food drive donations (monetary donations are also welcome). The children at St. Paul School will also be collecting food items the week of February 5-9. The Women's Guild thanks you in advance for your generous donations to the people in our community who need our help.
Thank you!
Women's Guild Greeting Cards
For the next sale, we will have Valentine's cards along with a variety of Birthday, Celebration, Anniversary, Congratulations, New Baby, Sympathy, Wedding and Thank You. We will sell on Saturday, February 3 and Sunday, February 4 before and after each Mass.
The Dental Assistance program that is sponsored by the McDonough County Health Department will receive the profit from the sale of the greeting cards. The Women's Guild would like to thank everyone who purchased cards in October, November and December. We donated $613.00 to the Western Illinois Regional Council for Project Santa.
Illinois Tax Credit Scholarship Program FAQs
Can donations be directed to a certain school or individual? Individuals may direct donations to a particular school or subset of schools, but NOT to an individual student or group of students. Corporate donors cannot restrict their donations. Individuals will direct their donations to the school or schools of their choice when they make a donation to the SGO after they have reserved their credit. However, when reserving a tax credit with the IL Department of Revenue, donors will need to select the region in which their designated school or schools are located.
Who is eligible to receive a scholarship? K-12 students from families with limited financial resources, up to 300 percent of the federal poverty level, are eligible to receive a Tax Credit Scholarship. From January to April, priority will be given to students from each of the following categories:
-
Students who are members of a household whose previous year’s total annual income does not exceed 185% of the federal poverty level; and
-
Students who reside within a focus district.
After April 1, all other qualifying students will be considered for scholarships.
Can donations be anonymous?
Yes! All donations can be anonymous if the individual or corporation chooses them to be.
How do I get help with the donation process? You may contact Empower Illinois directly at info@empowerillinois.org.
Students can apply beginning January 31, 2018. Call the school for more information, 309-833-2470.

Old Palms to Ashes
