Fulbright Foreign Student Program FAQ
Eligibility
Q: Is there an age limit for participation?
A: No. There is no specific age limit for participation in the program.
However,
most successful
candidates are at an early or mid-point in their careers.
Q: I’m not a citizen of Uzbekistan but am a permanent resident. May I apply?
A: Yes, if you are a permanent resident qualified to hold a valid
passport issued by Uzbekistan,
you are eligible to apply.
Q: I am currently studying or working outside of Uzbekistan. Am I eligible?
A: No. If you are a permanent resident of another country, or currently
working or studying in
another country, you are not eligible for participation in the program.
You must reside in the
country throughout the application and selection process.
Q: I will not get my bachelor’s degree until after the Fulbright application deadline. Can I
still apply?
A: No. No, you can’t. Applicants must have completed undergraduate education
and hold a
bachelor’s degree. In
your application, you must submit your transcripts and
a copy of your
official diploma.
Q: I am a citizen of Uzbekistan but graduated from a university outside of Uzbekistan. Am
I eligible?
A: Yes. As long as you received the equivalent of a four-year undergraduate
degree from an
accredited
university, you are eligible.
Q: I am currently enrolled in a master’s degree program and would not have completed by
the application deadline. Am I still eligible to apply for the Fulbright Program?
A: Yes, but final transcripts should be received in the year of application.
