PHONEBOOKS / EYEGLASSES

Over the past couple of weeks unknown individuals have purposely left a pile of old phone books in the town office’s entry, & most recently, a bag of eye glasses.

To be clear, the town office has not collected eyeglasses on behalf of the Herbert Lions Club for a few years now. Please deposit your unwanted glasses at the Herbert MCC Thrift Store. Also, phonebooks are recyclable. We don’t collect or want your old ones. Assuming you’re from Herbert, please deposit them in your blue Triways recycling cart instead.

SPRING CLEANING

The office will be CLOSED to the public on Wednesday, March 14 in order that town staff can tend to an in-house clean-up of unwanted paperwork & files. The town has a RECORDS FOR RETENTION BYLAW in place for this necessary activity.

If you’re handy, the Herbert & District Recreation Board is looking for volunteers to help prepare the curling rink surface & build a stage for the upcoming SPRING FLING FUNDRAISER.

Set-up dates are Thursday, March 22^nd & Friday, March 23^rd. Work will be scheduled in shifts throughout each day depending on the number of volunteers available.
