If you’re registering by mail or fax, complete the apprentice enrolment form and include your first and second choice of class. Registration
is processed on a first-come, first-served basis.
Registration for the blended learning delivery of Electrician and Welder closes two weeks after the class start date.
Payment options
Tuition is due at the time of registration. Pay using Visa, MasterCard, cheque, money order or purchase order. Cash and debit card
payments are accepted in-person only. If you’re being sponsored and the company doesn’t pay the tuition fee, you’ll be responsible for
the payment.

Cook and Baker apprentices will have an additional laundry fee of $75.
After you register
We’ll email you a confirmation letter with your program start date, class schedule, receipt, Employment Insurance (EI) code and
information about getting started at SAIT.
Cancelling your registration
If you need to cancel your registration, login to your MyTradesecrets account and select Cancel. If you’re cancelling after your class start
date, contact the Office of the Registrar by phone at 403.284.7248 or toll free at 1.877.284.7248 or

Refund eligibility
You will be eligible for a refund if you cancel at least five business days prior to the class start date. All cancellations are subject to a $50
administrative fee. To request a refund, contact the Office of the Registrar.
No shows
Orientation is mandatory. If you’re going to be late or unable to attend Orientation on the first day of classes, you must notify the Office
of the Registrar by phone at 403.284.7248 or toll free at 1.877.284.7248. If you don’t contact the Office of the Registrar by 11 am on
your Orientation day, you’ll forfeit your seat and lose your full tuition fee.
SAIT reserves the right to cancel, postpone or combine classes, to limit registration and to alter course content, instructors, dates or times. Apprentices are notified of class changes by
telephone or email before the course start date.

Funding Opportunities
Our funding advisors provide assistance with Employment Insurance (EI) applications and information about scholarships, the Canada
Apprentice Loan, apprentice incentive and completion grants (AIG & ACG) and Alberta Works funding for apprentices.

Apprentices with Disabilities
Apprentices with disabilities may be eligible for a variety of supports, including exam accommodations, sign language interpreting,

Academic Coaching and Tutoring
Take PREP 145 — a free six-hour study skills course — before you start training. You’ll learn memory techniques and how to prepare
tests and exams. While you’re in training, work with an academic coach one-on-one, contact a tutor, or attend apprentice success
seminars to help improve learning skills.

Recreation
The Campus Centre — SAIT’s recreation facility — includes an ice arena, swimming pool, diving area, gymnasium, squash and
racquetball courts, and a weight room. Membership is available on a user-pay basis.
Library
The Reg Erhardt Library provides a large collection of print and video media, a trades and apprenticeship exam bank, and resource
material to assist you with your studies. Visit us on the main floor of the Stan Grad Centre.
Bookstore
SAIT’s Bookstore provides your prescribed text books and instructional materials. We’re located on the main floor of the Stan Grad
Centre.
Health Services
Health Services are available ranging from treating minor illness and injury to services in occupational health and safety, preventative and
community health, and referrals. We’re located in NR041, Senator Burns Building.
Counselling Services
Counselling services are available for career, academic and personal matters. Walk in or make an appointment to meet with a counsellor.
