History of Andijan
Establishment of the region
On March 6, 1941, the region was separated from the Fergana region and established as part of the Uzbek SSR by the decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR. In 1926-1930, the Andijan district of the Uzbek SSR was established in this area
Nature
Andijan region's surface is mostly flat summer is hot, average temperature in July is 27.3°, winter is relatively cold, average temperature in January is -3°
Industry
In the years of independence, the industry of the region changed its direction and developed radically. Existing enterprises are being taken out of state ownership and entering a special form of ownership there are 160 industrial enterprises of all types of ownership in the region. The only automobile manufacturing enterprise in Central Asia - Uzbek-South Korea "UzDEU auto" company is located in Asaka
Literature
Andijan, the owner of world-wide fame, Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur, the land of Nadirabegimlar. Abdulhamid Cholpon, a great representative of the new Uzbek literature of the 20th century, was born in Andijan
Famous people
Nadira (1792 - 1842) - poet, educator and statesman. Zahir al-Din Muhammad Babur (1483 - 1530) was a king, general, poet, founder of a great dynasty, artist and patriot. Muhammad Sadiq Muhammad Yusuf - sheikh, chairman of the Office of Muslims of Uzbekistan (1989-1993) Muhammad Yusuf (1954-2001) - People's poet of Uzbekistan (1998) and public figure.
