Establishment of the region
On March 6, 1941, the region was separated from the Fergana region and established as part of the Uzbek SSR by the decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR. In 1926-1930, the Andijan district of the Uzbek SSR was established in this area
Nature

Industry
In the years of independence, the industry of the region changed its direction and developed radically.
