Parts of the examination were also filmed, and this film was made part of a documentary produced by Dmitri Khafizov and by television station ZAO Channel 6 in Kazan. June 18, 2004: The presentation of the Czestochowa icon to General Mikhailov was described in an article in the Military-Industrial Courier [Военно-Промышленный Курьер], an important weekly newspaper covering the Russian military establishment. The article also included a photo of the Czestochowa icon being presented to the General. The article has been posted on the newspaper’s website, http://vpk-news.ru/articles/595 . Later, the event was also covered in an article posted on the website of the Press Office of the Czestochowa shrine, www.jasnagora.com . On May 8, 2002, Father Konstantin Tatarintsev held a thanksgiving service to the Czestochowa icon. During the service, Lieutenant-General Mikhail Oparin, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Russian Air Force, stated that a copy of the Czestochowa icon has an honored place in the cockpit of his airplane and that an icon light is always burning before it. The latter story was reported on the website of the Moscow Patriarchate’s department responsible for relations with the Russian armed forces, www.pobeda.ru.
