Greeting  of  guests  took  place  in  entrance  of  Agsu  Town,  Haydar  Aliyev 
Sight Park at 9:30 am. The guests sat round a little river cloth in the sight park and 
gazed at Agsu town. 
The guests visited Martyr's Avenue in Agsu Town after the tea set. 
The quests and the representatives of region community had been in Haydar 
Aliyev  Park  at  10:00am.  Wreath  and  flowers  were  laid  on  monument  of  Great 
Leader  on  behalf  of  Agsu  Executive  Power,  leadership  of  AUAS  and  Agsu 
Archaeology  Expedition.  The  participants  of  the  jubilee  celebration  made 
acquaintance  of  Medieval  Agsu  Town  and  archaeological  excavations  carried  out 
there at 10:30 am. 
Chief of the Expedition, Gafar Jabiyev and other specialists embodied in the 
Expedition  gave  broad  information  to  the  guests  on  the  monument  and  findings 
displayed  in  III  excavation  site.  Vice-president  of  ANAS,  academician  Naila 
Velikhanly; director of ANAS Institute of Archaeology and Ethnography, doctor of 
historical  sciences  Maisa  Rahimova;  academician  Teymur  Bunyadov;  associate 
member  of  ANAS,  llyas  Babayev;  as  well  as  well-known  archaeologists  and 
ethnographer  scientists  stated  their  content  with  professional  implementation  of 
investigations. 
Opening  of  a  special  exhibition  of  material  cultured  examples  found  from 
Medieval  Agsu  Town  was  held  in  the  Agsu  History  and  Local  Lore  Museum  at 
11:30  am.  Samples  of  colourful  craftsmanship  products,  things  which  are 
indicators  of  home  and  economy  life  of  local  population  produced  by  Medieval 
Agsu masters, rich numismatic materials, including local  money and rare findings 
notified  intensive  trade  and  cultural  relations  with  various  countries  and  cities  of 
the  world  were  demonstrated  at  the  exhibition.  Guests,  intellectuals,  and 
representatives  of  the  region  community  got  detailed  acquainted  with  the 
exhibition. 
A  large  meeting  was  held  on  occasion  of  87-year  anniversary  of  Great 
Leader  in  a  cultural  palace  of  Agsu  region  with  participation  of  scientists  and 
representatives of region community at 12:00 am. Head of Agsu region Executive 
Power Anvar Seyidaliyev opened the gathering with introductory remark.

Dear Agsu people! 
Let  me  before  welcome  heartily  the  most  esteemed  guests  of  ours, 
academician  Naila  Velikhanly;  director  of  ANAS  Institute  of  Archaeology  and 
Ethnography,  Maisa  Rahimova;  respected  person  of  our  science,  academician 
Teymur Bunyadov; as well as eminent archaeologist, associate member of ANAS, 
llyas  Babayev  and  other  scientific  figures  and  greet  them.  I  also  want  to  express 
my  content  regarding  joining  of  Agsu  scientists  and  intellectuals  to  today's  event 
that live and work in Baku and cause our being permanently proud of our region.

Constantly keeping the word given to electors, participating closely in social life of 
the region,  in one  word,  very esteemed  MP  who is every  time  with  Agsu people, 
Arastun Javadov is today together with us. Let us all together welcome him. Dear 
ladies and gentlemen!  A range  of events is  under  way on  the  occasion  of 87-year 
anniversary of Nationwide Leader Haydar Aliyev in Agsu region like in every part 
of  our  country.  More  colourful  and  memorable  actions  are  arranged  almost  every 
day  in  office,  institution  and  work  collectives;  educational,  health  and  cultural 
institutions  and  separate  dwelling  point  as  a  sign  of  respect  to  dear  memory  of 
Great Leader.  
Agsu  people  thereby  try  to  demonstrate  their  endless  respect,  love  and 
esteem for Nationwide  Leader. This event which we arranged together  with  Agsu 
Archaeological  Expedition  is  one  of  the  range  events.  We  are  glad  that  our 
respectful  guests  from  Baku  took  part  in  today's  event  of  celebration  of  Agsu 
people. Let's welcome them heartily on behalf of region's Executive Power and all 
Agsu  people.  I  congratulate  all  of  you  from  heart  on  occasion  of  this  May 
celebrations. 
Dear  ladies  and  gentlemen!  We  live  in  a  very  uneasy  world.  We  hear 
exciting  news  from  separate  points  of  the  world  every  day.  Conflicts  of  national 
and religious background, diplomatic scandals and political cataclysm are replaced 
by  each  other.  Certain  people  try  to  break  calmness  and  quietness  of  mankind 
intentionally and purposely. Look, what is happening in Caucasus and CIS space! 
Now  look  at  Azerbaijan  against  the  background  of  all  these.  Thanks  God 
peace  and  calmness  exists  in  our  country.  Dynamic  development,  and  vast 
renovation  and  construction  work  is  fulfilled  in  every  part  of  our  country. 
Economy  develops  rapidly  and the image  of the regions renewed  day by day.  All 
of these are founded by Great Leader. 
We can utter words of our honorable President llham Aliyev: "Independent 
Azerbaijan is a masterpiece of Haydar Aliyev". 
Like  all  Azerbaijani  people  Agsu  people  are  contented  that  the  course 
defined by Great Leader is successfully continued by his political heir, our beloved 
esteemed  Mister  President  llham  Aliyev.  Agsu  people  like  this  course  from  heart 
and maintain it all together. 
Dear ladies and gentlemen! Agsu is a very wonderful space with its lowland 
and  summer  pasture.  Agsu  is  also  a  region  situated  on  a  transit  road.  The  people 
took into account mainly these factors above all while they settled down since very 
ancient times. 
Let me recall that, there are ancient dwelling places of 7 thousand years in 
the  area  of  Agsu  region.  The  remnants  of  one  of  important  cities  of  ancient 
Azerbaijani  Albania  state  are  in  our  region.  Ancient  living  space  using  great 
warlord,  state  figure  and  diplomat  Javanshir's  name  is  also  in  Agsu.  The
