Miki: Excuse me.
Attendant: Yes, what can I do for you?
Miki: Could I have another cup of coffee, please?
Attendant: Certainly. Cream and sugar with that?
Miki: Just two creams, please.
Attendant: Here you are.
Miki: Thanks. Oh, and can you help me with the landing card, please? What does “Place of Birth” mean?
Attendant: It means the country you were born in.
Miki: Oh, I see. Thanks for your help.
Attendant: You’re welcome.
Unit 2 Listening Test
Officer: Hello. Can I have your passport, please?
Lauren: Yes. Here you are.
Officer: What’s the purpose of your visit to Thailand?
Lauren: I’m here on vacation with my friend.
Officer: What do you do?
Lauren: I’m a student.
Officer: Thank you. And how long will you be staying here?
Lauren: For ten days.
Officer: Where are you staying?
Lauren: We will be spending two days in Bangkok at the Gold Orchid.
Officer: And after that?
Lauren: We will be traveling around and haven't booked hotels yet.
Officer: Thank you. That’s all. Enjoy your stay.

Evie: What do your parents do, Hideo?
Hideo: My dad works for the post office.
Evie: And your mom?
Hideo: She is a lawyer.
Evie: Great! How do they get to work?
Hideo: My dad goes to work by train. My mom takes the subway.
Evie: What do you do on weekends, Hideo?
Hideo: In summer I spend a lot of time by the sea. I love scuba diving.
Evie: Do you ever go surfing?
Hideo: Well, I tried it once. But I wasn't very good!
