Sample Fire Bill for Explosive Areas

NAVSEA OP 5 Volume 1 requires fire bills to be posted conspicuously within tenant commands. It also lists special instructions that should be included on fire bills for areas that are used to store or handle ammunition and/or explosives. The following link is a sample of a fire bill that has been tailored to meet NAVSEA OP 5 Volume 1 requirements. Prior to posting this sample fire bill, you must verify that it meets all local requirements and all requirements of the most current NAVSEA OP 5 instruction.

   USE THE NEAREST FIRE ALARM BOX OR TELEPHONE ______
   

Know the location of the nearest alarm box and telephone in your area. When using telephone, REPORT BLDG NUMBER. Upon arrival, direct the Fire Department to the scene of the fire and provide details.

2. 
   SPREAD THE ALARM – PASS THE WORD
   

Evacuate all personnel except auxiliary firefighting forces.

3. 
   IF TIME PERMITS, CLOSE DOORS/WINDOWS TO CONFINE THE FIRE AND PREVENT DRAFTS. SECURE VALUABLE DOCUMENTS/EQUIPMENT. DO NOT ENDANGER YOURSELF OR OTHERS IN THIS EFFORT

   REMOVE HAZARDOUS MATERIALS FROM PATH OF FIRE & MANUALLY ATTEMPT TO EXTINGUISH FIRE, PENDING ARRIVAL OF FIRE DEPT.

   ALL HANDS MUSTER IN THE DESIGNATED AREAS
