On January 14, 2008, the Underhill Conservation Commission met at Underhill Town Hall with four members attending; present were Betty Moore, Ellen Eccleston, Trevor Squirrell and Mary Pacifici. Chairman Tom Kichura was absent.
Trevor reported that 15 wetland areas had been identified in Underhill and have been identified as possible candidates for a wetlands restoration project. The project would be a collaboration the CCRPC the DEC Water Quality Division (specifically the Lamoille Watershed Coordinator), and the DEC Wetlands Office (Restoration & Protection Specialist). This project is part of the Lake Champlain Basin Wetland Restoration Plan and it is Trevor’s understanding that funding would come through the Clean and Clear program.
Betty reported that about $400 had been given to the Conservation Commission in memory of Lorraine Kennedy.
The Treasurer did not have a report ready. The meeting adjourned early. The February meeting will be on Monday, February 11, 2008.
Respectfully submitted,
Mary Pacifici, Secretary
